Project Overview
Conception
We began by thoroughly examining the flow of the current website to identify weaknesses and formulate strategies for improvement. After analyzing our client’s requirements, we pinpointed significant shortcomings in clear navigation, e-learning brand positioning, and content strategy. This led us to shift our focus towards creating a new educational web platform that prioritized ease of use, memorability, and intuitive navigation to address common user frustrations. Achieving this objective required a comprehensive overhaul of the user interaction process, resulting in numerous changes. Based on our research findings, we proposed a revamped navigation system characterized by simplicity, predictability, and better alignment with information architecture and user intent.
Mission
The CGMA team approached us with a desire to overhaul their primary product, a virtual classroom platform. They aimed to enhance its user-friendliness to better support e-learning enthusiasts, instructors, and team members, ultimately boosting its value as a business asset.
Development
The previous web platform, built on Drupal, lacked the scalability needed for the growth CGMA's creators envisioned. It proved cumbersome and costly to attempt to revamp it, prompting the decision to construct an entirely new foundation built with Ruby on Rails (RoR).
Outcome
Achieving the goal required a redesign and a shift to a more scalable and advanced technology stack, along with increased customization options. Our main goals were to streamline educational processes, enhance communication, and improve the management of educational materials.
